The purpose of the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Worcester Red Umbrella march is to raise community awareness about the alarming and rising rate of HIV infections in the African American community.
WE ask YOU to please, join us at the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day first annual Worcester Red Umbrella March & Rally. Join US in this community event as WE march, with Red Umbrellas and wear all black to raise awareness about the unnecessary and needless toll HIV continues to take on OUR community not only here but across the commonwealth, the United States and around the world.
This is also a time to remember our family and friends that we have lost to HIV/AIDS and to celebrate those still with us who are living strong.
We will be meeting in front of the Worcester Memorial Auditorium and marching down main street to the front of City Hall where there will be a rally with speakers and music.
